Displacement sensors utilize conductive plastics and sliding brushes for direct measurement of position or object profile without any form of solid mechanical coupling. A distinctive and important feature of these sensor assemblies is their robust and engineering-proven structural design. Most importantly, flexible bearings at both ends of the sensor act as an effective buffer when lateral stresses are encountered (as in cam applications). The rear end stop nut of the tie rod is designed for easy connection with electromagnetic and pneumatic hydraulic actuators.
